Don't Hassleblad know that there's a global financial crisis !?

Anybody here got one yet .... ?

The description made me laugh

"the H4D-40 provides the perfect entry point into the Hasselblad world"

entry point at £15K

Wouldnt you just love to live in that World.:)

Dave.

got :D

I wish :naughty:

To be honest a lot of people would not think twice about spending that on a car for business, OK, it's a camera but it is a quality bit of kit and if it got you the results and you could cover the cost of buying it... why not?

I missed the launch of this last week, but got a call yesterday to see if I was still interested and would I like to go and have a play with it!!
Am tempted to say yes but feel I might regret it, or at least my bank manager would!
Mart

would love to see an example of shot taken with this against say the 5d to see how much it is worth the dough

I'll take two, wondered what to buy with my pocket money this month! I'd better have a range of lenses as well :cuckoo:

Apparently they're going to come out with a proper SLR to compete with the Leica S2 as well.

Give it a few years, that'll probably be available in P&S size from argos :p

Storage capacity: 4 GB CF card holds 75 images on average

Max ISO 1600! - that's rubbish :D

In my previous hobby, as an electric bassist, this wouldn't have been something that you'd want to see in a sales brochure :( ....

What is it, exactly  ?

Coincidentally my Calumet student card came through the post today..

The 10% I would get knocked of the price is itself 5 times more than i've spent on my entire gear - haha.

:D That really puts the price into perspective, I must say.

Still, we can dream ;).

Pffft, 40MP. That's pathetic. I'd much rather have the H4D-60!

Starting at £26,000. BARGAIN :)

If it is the same as the H3D-II we have here then it basically beeps at you. Think of it like morse beeps depending on if the shot is over/under exposed etc. I found it really annoying, lol.

For those selling Fine Art landscapes for over £1,000 per print it's a no-brainer

There are few of them in that bracket though, and I'm not one of them :( (yet)

DD

Wouldn't be my first choice for landscapes tbh. You would get better results from a 5x4 field camera and a good drum or flex scanner.

I hope Hasselblad will be at the Focus show next month. I'd love to see some really big prints from that camera

TBH I think there's an element of bullcrap about Hasselblad. How much quality do you actually need for most professional work? I mean, Annie Leibovitz managed to scrape by using a Canon 1Ds for her portraits of The Queen.

On the other hand, if you're a commercial photographer being paid thousands, maybe tens of thousands for a shoot, the client doesn't want to see you using a camera that looks exactly the same as their 350D ;)

Acoustic Feedback - yes.

Is that a posh way of saying, it beeps?

Oh, really :(!? I was hoping for something a little more than that for my £15k.

At the very least, I would have expected a seductive sounding Swedish female voice :naughty:, telling me things like:

"Your framing is not quite optimised. Zoom in ... and out ... and in ... and out again ... now faster .... mmm, that feels good"

or,

"Is that an extension tube you've got in your hand, or are you just pleased to see me"?

:shake: OK, I've now officially lost the plot ....

:coat:

Hahahahah, brilliant.

I would even consider buying Nikon if they had that :D

To me a camera is only a proper Hasselblad if it is square format.

Tareq on POTN has an HD-39 or HD-60, the photos in the 'post the sharpest picture you've taken' thread are breathtaking.

Howwwwwwwww much ?

i was working, the other week and a fella had a old hasselblad with a LEAF digital back, he was a landscape/ architic photographer.

wow it was a alovely camera but slow fps...

He did have a Canon 5DMKII as well
