Have i a faulty CF card?

Splashed out and bought both a Sandisk extreme pro 16GB CF and extreme pro 16GB SD card as both are highly recommended and have cashback offers. (from UK shop via internet so should be genuine!)
Took a tad over 300 shots at my sons football match and i've just tried to download them from camera (via the USB cable) to laptop.
Used eos utility as usual, but after 9 files downloaded got a pop up box saying "cannot move to folder" or similar words!
thought that was strange so i took out the CF card and tried via my USB3 card reader.
after i plugged it in and instead of just showing just F drive was connected it showed F,G,H and I drives! (my card reader has 4 card inputs, its an ANKER reader, and never had a problem before with it)
so i right clicked over drive F and just showed the egg timer icon spinning (actually a circle on win8) that just keeps spinning! its been doing this for over 30mins now!!!
Unplugged and put in the SD card and everything fine with that, downloaded in seconds!

tried the CF card in the reader again, this time just showed F drive but still a 'no go'! spinning timer again, it even wont respond when i click on the remove hardwear button!

ps i save RAW to CF card and S jpeg to SD card.

just tried a Lexar CF card, firing off a few dozen shots, and that card works fine.

corrupt card?????

Sounds like it. Can you review the images on the body, from the CF?
 
tried again via the reader , when i connect to the laptop get the "EOS_DIGITAL(F: )in the left hand side column of my screen, but when i click on it, i get the spinning wheel thing (egg timer type icon) that just goes on forever!!!
Frustrating!!! it does this if i right click or left click! or try to remove hardware :bang:

I tried to copy files from my CF card today for the first time, using a USB cable plugged into my camera (always copied from the SD before), Win 8 told me it was going to take 23 hours to copy around 1.5gb! I gave up and used the in camera settings, to copy the files from my CF card to the SD, then downloaded them much quicker that way.

I'm pretty sure I have the same CF and SD cards as you have.
 
It's probably worth trying to format the card in the camera. If it's a corrupt file system, as opposed to broken hardware, it might fix the issue. (You'll lose the photos, of course)
 
If you do format the card, before you use the card again use the software supplied with your new cards to recover the files from your card :thumbs: personally I'd try and run the card through that software before formatting it
 
If you are able to view in camera, how about hooking the camera up to the computer via USB and trying to download that way?
 
I just meant that as Windows won't read it and the camera will, the camera might be able to format it where Windows won't. Do what Matthew said first, though. Maybe that software works at a lower-level than Windows' file handling routines.
