Have you used a GF1 with the "kit" lens?

Yes
It looks like just about everyone getting the GF1 is going with the 20, which is the best way to exploit it's strengths. The 14-45, slow as it is does march up well with the LX2 though and that is a joy to use.

The idea of that camera but with increased image quality is a nice idea too.

So, does anyone have real world time with the slow zoom?

I'd love one, but the 20 isn't wide enough for me, and the 14-45 way too big for pocketability. When they come up with a decent wide prime then I'll go for one.

I bought the gf-1 with the kit lens as the 20mm kit wasn't available at the time

That said it's an excellent lens and surprisingly sharp - certainly a lot better than most kit lenses. The camera also does some very nifty processing with the lens removing a lot of wide angle distortion

The speed of the lens isn't really an issue as it has decent IS and the cameras high iso performance is very good - it makes a great travel outfit

I've since bought the 20mm but still use the 14-45 regularly and would never think of getting rid of it
