Hey guys. Ive brought a Canon 70-200mm f4.0L USM for my 550D And quite a few of my pictures are blur, Not all of them! but some.

When im auto focusing, The little LED lights you see when looking through the view finder light up in the wrong place, I need the middle one to light up all the time because thats where my subjects usually are.

Any help would be great and also my shutter speed was on like 1/1000.

Thanks

Nick

You know you can select whatever focus point you want? Just select the centre point and it'll use that point only.

I can change the settings to just use centre focus?! I did not know this. Do you know where the setting change will be?

Thanks

Nick

The 70-200mm f4.0 L has excellent AF, but it sounds as if the AF system is confused. Try selecting centre point only, as others have suggested. I use this and back button focus - to decouple the exposure and focus - but that's just a personal preference.

can't remember how to change it on the xxxd range...

It's all in manual though, which is generally the best place to look!

The selected AF point will be

If all the AF points light in the
viewfinder, it means automatic AF
point selection is in effect.

To select an AF point, you can either
turn the <
6> or <5> dial or use
<
9>.

When you turn the <6> or <5>
dial, the AF point selection will
change in the respective direction.

When all AF points light up, automatic
AF point selection will be set.

The AF point selection will change in
the direction you tilt the <
9>. If you
keep tilting it in the same direction, it
will toggle between manual and

automatic AF point selection.
