HDEW Cameras - anyone every used them???

Has anyone every bought from hdewcameras??? I'm thinking of purchasing a nikon D700 and 24-70 2.8 lens and they are doing a bundle price of £2860 but wanted to know if anyone has every used them???
 
I've been reading reviews and everyone seems very happy with them. Someone did say to me to watch as a grey import is fine but I might have problems with the warranty, have you ever had this problem?
 
Got my 7d off them and found them excellent to deal with.
Had a slight focusing problem as have many but they sorted out the calibration under warranty and even checked after that i was happy.
3 year cover, customer service and the price means more to me than the fact it's a grey import, will definitely use them again.
 
Colchester camera centre fixed mine :thinking:
5 day turn around and better than new :)

Oh thanks guys that's brillant, just needed some reassurance. I know this may sound stupid but what exactly is a grey import - is it just imported from another country????

Basically yeah. Probably from Japan or HK. I got mine from HDEW too and was very happy with the price and service.
 
I bought a 70-200 VRII off them a few months ago for the same price people were paying for second hand lenses on here. Great service and as it was a lens it comes with full manufacturers warranty. Why wouldn't you ? People get very hung up about grey market kit but as long as you buy from a recognised camera retailer like HDEW there is no difference at least on lenses.

They have a .com and .co.uk website and you should use the latter if you are UK based. The prices can be better (no idea why) and I think they said the payment system is better.

I didn't realise that they had two sites. I was about to buy my 7D from them when I spotted the lack of security.
 
Scott,

When you bought your camera, what, if anything did you get by way of documentation regarding the 3 year extended warranty provided by Hdew?
