HDMI to DVI

I'm thinking of getting an external monitor (Dell U2311) to use with my laptop.

The monitor has DVI and VGA inputs. The laptop has HDMI and VGA out. If I want to use the HDMI port on my laptop is it simply a matter of connecting to the monitor with an HDMI to DVI conversion cable ?

Hdmi Is basically the digital part of the sci and audio

Any dvi to hdmi will work. Very cheap on ebay
