Hi,
Watched the keynote a few hours ago on Apples media event which saw the launch of a whole new lineup of iPods(excluding the classic) and was surprised to see them mention that the iOS 4.1 updates will feature HDR capabilites with the iPhone 4 and new iPod Touch due out next week sometime. From what I saw it captures 3 exposures(one under, one normal, one over) and does the usual technique of blending them together to create an HDR image on the move.
Be interesting to see the results for myself using my iPhone 4 compared to say using a mid range compact with the same capabilites of bracketing exposures and seeing the amount of detail(more so on the highlight detail of an already tricky exposure setting for instance)
What do you all think? Not quite a S5 Pro in your pocket with huge dynamic range, but interesting approach from Apple as they could of just shoved in a load of stupid effects to use with the camera side of things.
