HDR for Newbies - Help!!

[Rowee]

A few people have mentioned HDR phtography to me. I've had a quick look at explanations of HDR but don't really understand the concept of. Can anyone offer a brief explanation as to what it is, when (and why) you would use it, and how??
Any assistance is greatly appreciated

Excellent link, just one question and excuse me if i'm being a bit dumb here, can you take 3 RAW images on auto bracket?

Depends on your camera I think Pretty sure all Canon EOS cameras can, got a feeling some of the lower end Nikons D40 etc maybe cant. Other I am not sure about.
