Headlamp with red night vision option?

No
I have a couple of headlamps which I use when out taking pictures during the night. Like the idea of a decent head torch with a night vision/red light option, preferably one you don't have to cycle through white options to reach.

Any recommendations?

Got mine from Tesco's for £2.99 if I remember correctly.
Centre off switch, so can select either red or white to choice.
Served me well for the last 18 months.

Hmm. Only two listed on the Tesco Direct site, neither of which fits the bill....

I think there was one made by Energizer that did that (which Tesco also sold)

Aldi sold one not so long ago, they might have some left somewhere

Yeah I've found the newer version of this on Amazon and the red light seems to have gone. The earlier version with the red light is on eBay but it looks (from Amazon reviews) as though it cycles through white to get to green.

No Aldi where I live but thanks anyway.

Yeah just dug my Energizer one out - 3 way switch, white, off, red with off in the middle. It's quite old though so not sure if they are still available

I have an Led Lenser SE05 , bright white adjustable beam with a separate red led. You don't have to cycle through the options when set to red, just turn it on and Bobs your Uncle. I use mine for when I am out with my telescope.
Not cheap, but good quality and comfortable to wear. The head is adjustable. There's a good range on Amazon

I've got an oldish Energizer one which cycles through the options but starts with the red. Model number is worn off after several years of use.

Have pushed the boat on and gone for this one. Had a voucher to use anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions all.

You won't go far wrong with LED Lenser products - I've got plenty of their torches and they are spot on for quality;)

Yeah well I read Allan's endorsement above and the Amazon reviews are impressive. I can keep my existing cheapos for other tasks but this baby can stay in my bag with the rest of my expensive kit!
