Went to a bridal shoot today and just edited one quick headshot, was shot @1.4 but with hindsight should have used a smaller aperture so both eyes were in focus. Natural light, and exif should be intact.

I always look at the photo first and then read the text and was going to go on about the DoF but you've already covered the only improvement I could see, it's a really nice image with wonderful tones

A higher aperture would have helped a little, 1/1600 gives you a lot of aperture to play with.... However, I think your choice of lens for the shot isn't right. I think stepping back with a longer lens would suit this better because at 50mm this doesn't look right. To me, her head appears bigger than it is.
