can any damage be raised by having my camera gear in the boot of a hot car? or even carry around in a black bag in this scorching heat?

As i said on that thread the heat is unlikely to hurt your camera , but theres a far higher chance of it getting nicked and most camera insurance policies don't cover gear left in an unatteded vehicle unless the boot is seperated from the passenger compartment by a steel bulkhead
