Heavy Duty Light Stand

how the hell do you BREAK a c-stand? lol...

calumet had that stand reduced significantly until recently :/

what are you putting on it? the calumet will probably be fine, I've got some of the non-air cushioned version of that one and they're pretty damn robust, though nowhere near the same level as a c-stand or matthews

I thought they were unbreakable! One of the base legs has cracked...I don't know how!

Heaviest item I'll be using would be a Bowens 1000 Pro + modifier. What do you use on your calumet stand?

I put anything I want on it, works fine... Mostly use them as a background stand (very heavy big vinyl roll), but I've put booms with monoblocs on the end from it... as with any stand, the key's just to sandbag it down if putting heavy stuff on it.

Love the height it can get too, great for doing a 'drew gardener' and putting a light wayyy up in the trees to 'make' a sun ;)

Then again, you DID manage to break a c-stand....lol

I have a smaller Calumet air cushioned stand. One of the sections popped out and lost its air cushioned goodness. It seems to have fixed itself though....I manage to break every stand I get!

I've gone for the non air cushioned one for now. Let's hope it lasts lol. Thanks for your input sir!

Drew Gardner uses an Avenger. Certainly solid enough for getting a decent softbox up in the trees. And reassuringly heavy.....

I prefer the non air damped, they fold down to be about an inch shorter which is the difference between fitting in a focus boot and not:D
