Hi all,

I've enjoyed taking snaps for a while now and would like to get a bit more serious with it. As a noob, I would appreciate any advice on buyinjg my first SLR camera. Its mainly going to be taking pictures (good uns I hope) of the family and local area..

Joe, welcome to the forum :)

Why not post your question on the "Talk Equipment" part of the forum. That way, you'll get more views and a lot more advice I'm sure :)

You'll learn a lot from this extremely friendly forum :) Very good photographers only too willing to devote time to helping people :)
 
Hi.

I was in the same position as yourself and went for the Canon Eos 1000d and have never looked back.
