Good afternoon and hello from Scotland!

I joined today after @Michael Batten recommended the group to me.
I'm a professional photographer specialising in headshots and portraits and a (not quite fulfilled) passion for Unit Stills.
I love to share knowledge and am always keen to find some advise on gear and how to find good quality (cheaper brands) for lower prices (who can afford Broncolor anyway lol).

Got this description from Wikipedia:
"A unit still photographer, or simply still photographer, is a person who creates film stills, still photographic images specifically intended for use in the marketing and publicity of feature films in the motion picture industry and network television productions.[1][2][3]Besides creating photographs for the promotion of a film, the still photographer contributes daily to the filming process by creating set stills. With these, the photographer is careful to record all details of cast wardrobe, set appearance and background."

However, I have recently shot unit still on a film production for a corporate film and they will use those photographs in presentations and brochures. :)
It involves a lot of waiting and sitting around but it's great fun. When it's finally your turn to shoot you have to be quick and a little bit of a ninja.
