The answer to this is probably really simple...But.

My friend has a Pentax K100D and he recently got a Fuji sd 4gb card.
But it shows 999.

The only setting below that is 372 for RAW.

How can I reset things for the correct amount of available images to be displayed.

He's update his Pentax firmware to the latest version.:|

I thought that would halp but no...:bonk:

Also does it matter if it's a SD or a SDHC card.
Or even the male of card..???

Cheers ;););)

If it's displaying 999 then it means there's MORE than 1,000 shots available left to photograph. It's not a problem just that the counter will most likely end at 999.

Take a few hundred shots and you might notice it start going down from 999.
My guess is that there probably like 1,500 available shots or so

Also ask him to change the settings below Low quality JPEG and High Quality JPEG so he can gather an idea how many shots he can take.

There is no problem, just as Jamie mentions the counter cannot exceed its higest value.

If i am right in saying that anything over 2gb is a SDHC I don''t think its compatible with the K100D and only works with the K100D Super (the same as the SDM lens business)

But don't quote me on that
