Very new to this photography lark.

Having been convinced to take on the camera duties at my local football club by my emigrating mate I've been out and bought :-

Canon EOS 400D with standard lens

Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6

Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX DG Macro

4GB memory card

Camera Bag!

Now I know it's going to be a very steep learning curve and the first test is this Saturday.

Also off on holiday to New Zealand in a week so hopeful of getting some cracking shots out there.

Bought a new book, 'Digital Photography for Dummies', which I intend to read on the plane as part of my crash course.

Any hints, tips or advice gratefully received.

You will find any amount of help here. Some nice lenses there - I have the same ones as yourself for my D200. You will have some fun with the 10-20!

Hi & welcome - if you want a really great book to get up to speed pdq, have a look at the Digital Photographers Handbook by Tom Ang. It covers everything you need to know to get well stuck in!

Hi and welcome. My book recomendation would be understanding exposure. great book tbh
