HELP - 150-500mm Sigma lens

hoping that someone has come across this issue and can help fix it

my 150-500mm lens has a little button on the side to lock the lens to stop it from sliding but it seems to be stuck in the locked position.


have fiddled with the button and even unscrewed it but cant see a mechanism to move it




any help is appreciated ......

Sorry I can't help, but is it a C or S model, just in case it's differant

From what I remeber of mine the 150-500 is a single model no customer or sport versions. The locking mechanism is only to hold it in the closed position not for locking part way extended. If it has jammed try moving the barrel gently back and forth whilst actuating the lock. artyman is right, the 150-500 was pre-C or S time.

I found Sigma technical dept to be very good, they should be able to help.

They certainly are, they were very helpful when I lost a screw from a Sigma lens, sent me a replacement and some spares too, free of charge.
