hi, i have a niece who has celebal palsy, which basically means,she has very limited use of her right hand side (amongst other things). she became a mother just over a year ago and has paid hundreds of pounds for photos of her little boy. she loves trying to take pictures by herself but cant use the controls on her camera as its right handed. she asked me to ask you guys and gals if any of you know where we can get a left handed,easy to use but good quality camera?
any suggestions and help is much appreciated.

Could she not get a remote for the shutter that she could either use with her left hand, or attach to the camera in a position where she could use it comfortably?

Hope she finds a way to use it and has a lot of fun with it.
 
Nikon produced one a while ago but dropped it due to lack of demand (in the 90's)
As far as I know no other modern camera is produced left handed, they expect lefties to adapt.
 
Thinking about it, is she in a wheelchair as you could use a gorillpod to hold it to the arm so she's not actually holding it. Failing that you might find someone eho could faricate a mount for you.
 
fortunately shes not in a wheel chair,setting up a tripod wouldnt justify what she wants, thanks for all your replies, a might start getting in touch with manufacturers to see what i can find.again thankyou
 
It is still possible to get left handed cameras - as long as you are happy with film. I'm fairly sure there isn't a digital lefty camera.

Have you/your niece tried using a compact digital camera upside down? Don't laugh until you have tried it ;) Maybe a visit to a camera store to try some different models.
