HELP - Bristol area - Sunday 20th May ???

Can't meet up unfortunately but some suggestions:-

  • Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Avon Gorge, also good sunset potential.
  • Nearby Waterfront with SS Great Britain, The Matthew, boatbuilding yard, yachting, people, old dock cranes, dock railway (disused but sometimes run a tourist steam train), possibly some cormorants.
  • Millenium Square - the 'mirror ball', water features and 'night lights' opportunities.
  • Temple Quay - canal boats, feature offices and a steel bridge.
  • Corn Street - see 'The Nails', source of the expression 'on the nail' and adjacent indoor market area.

20th May is a Sunday, so I guess that's when you're travelling down ?
The Docks railway is running on the Sunday - see http://mshed.org/whats-on/events/bristol-harbour-railway-20-may/
Also Cabot Tower, Castle Park, the Downs (can be good for people-watching/snapping), Cumberland Basin (cannot remember what state the old tobacco warehouses are now in).
I guess "Millenium Square" is what I (and many old Brizzolians) think of as The Centre.

Travelodge booked !!! Really pushed the boat out on that one

It has crap reviews but is right next to the 2nd Forth Bridge, so should be good for sunset shots (rain permitting)
No wonder it was cheap ... last time I looked, the Forth Bridge was quite a way from where you're going ;)

Are you about this evening then? Might stop by!
