hi all

as the title might indicate I'm looking to either add a ff body or change my canon 40d and looking for users feedback.

1st option is to add a 5d to my 40, would give me a flavour of ff but at low cost
2nd option is to save for a few months and get a 5d mkii, roughly twice the cost but not sure if I'd get twice the value?

3rd is to replace the 40 with a 7d, this would work out to be roughly just less than option 1 so not sure if its a better option?

my photography is mainly landscapes and a bit of architecture, but I like the speed of the crop sensor cameras for shooting the kids...

finally as a wildcard, 1ds seem to be going cheep so that's another ff option

many thanks in advance

Even though the old 5D is a bit long in the tooth, pound for pound its still a stunning camera. ISO is clean upto about 1000 and its an ideal budget option for landscape photography. Downsides are a small screen, focus system is old and 12mp. The 5DMK2 is better in most aspects but photographing active kids will be hard. I'd personally look for a cheap 5D for around £400 and spend some money a nice Canon lens with a fast focus system
