Help! D700 not found by iMac

I can't get my iMac to recognise my D700 is connected via a USB cable. On my D300 there is a USB setting but I can't find it on the D700, any ideas?

Have you installed the software that came with your d700?

My mac only recognises my 7d with the canon software open

Nope I haven't. But it looks like Nikon have changed the way camera's "mount" when they released the D700 and D90. I have to use Bridge to "Get photos from camera.."

Ah well not the end of the world. Looks like its time to buy a card reader!

I know it sounds a bit unlikely but i had same probs with my D300 and it was because I hadnt installed the iPhoto updates (despite the fact I wasnt actually trying to use iPhoto). :-/ Updated iPhoto and hey presto.

When I connect my D90 to the Imac, it automatically loads Iphoto.

I then shut this down and use ViewNX/Nikontransfer to download the pictures.
