Hi all,

I have recently become involved with the eating disorders charity B-EAT - a charity very close to my heart. They are putting together some hand-outs for carers and asked me if I could supply some pictures along the following themes. I've been able to supply some but if anyone can help with any of the rest I would be very grateful.

Like myself, you won't get paid and you won't even get an acknowledgement - the images will only be used for handouts given to carers of people suffering eating disorders. If you would like to help these are the images I'm after (only the ones in bold (I've supplied the rest myself).

Many thanks in advance.

A rowing boat (empty) with oars on an attractive piece of water
Children sticking their tongues out at each other, annoyed. (Close in)
Hand of cards fanned out
Toolbox (tidy, attractive, clean)
Treasure chest (preferably open with treasure?)
Running shoes on running feet
Hitting a tennis ball with an angry expression
Line drawn in the sand
Siblings supporting each other
A coke bottle that has been shaken and the top taken off so it explodes everywhere (possibly with a mento inside just before to make it explode!)
Little footsteps/baby walking (just the baby legs would be ideal)
Oxygen mask
St. Bernard, sitting patiently and looking calm and loving
Dolphins!
A bee, positively framed, with a flower or flowers in sight
A fly, sucking up some spot of something
Green shoots
A person (or animal!) having a very bad day – comical if possible.

If you can help please put down below which image you can send and PM me

Thanks again.

Hi Ryan,

Sounds like a really good cause and I'd be very happy to help out.
I've been involved for many years with a charity providing respite care for carers - which is also something close to my heart, so anything that makes life easier or gives some support to carers is something I'd be pleased to assist with. Incidentally, I have no issue with the lack of acknowledgment in this kind of situation - personally, I look on it as a donation and if it had been cash instead of an image I wouldn't be looking for personal thanks either.

I don't have anything to hand, but if it can wait until the weekend I'm planning on playing around with some still life photography and actually already had some props in mind that included a treasure chest - adding some treasure won't be an issue (as long as they don't mind fake riches!)

I'm sure that I could cover off the hand of cards too if there are no other takers.

Wow - thanks so much Sarah. That would be perfect. Thank you :)

Let me know if so

Hi all,

I've updated the list just now. Thanks to John for the fab picture of the St Bernard and the Andy for the line in the sand. Scott has offered a cracking shoot of green shoots so as soon as I get it I'll cross that one off too. The ones in bold are still needed though please.

Cheers

R

Hi Ryan,

Treasure chest and hand of cards still coming up tomorrow.
In the meantime you still seem to be missing some, so I wonder whether this would be any good for your fly pic?

I suspect they actually wanted it sucking up either food or something gory looking, but if nothing better comes along this might fill the gap.

EDIT : If they're any use I can crop the border / text out - or feel free to crop it yourself. Unfortunately they're quite old, so I don't think I still have any higher res versions hanging around. Neither are something I wanted to keep to print and hang on the wall!!!

I'm 35,000 feet up this weekend, so can't be of much use with the camera I'm afraid Ryan, but....

It's competition time! :D

Any members who contribute a photo to the thread that fulfills any of the required criteria (and are confirmed as useful by Ryan) will be in with a chance to win a jiffy bag of photo-related bits and pieces* courtesy of moi, sent anywhere in the UK.

Once they are all in (and Ryan can decree as to when it's 'closed') I'll decide which one of all the shots I like the best with Ryan's input and the winner will be chosen between us.

Come on TPers. We're a great community of very talented people, so let's show just what this community can do for a worthwhile cause!

Go!

* don't expect L series lenses or top end studio lighting though!

Ryan,
What a great cause and one that is very close to my heart at the moment.

This was taken by my eldest daughter who has just been diagnosed as having bulemia.(not even sure if I have spelt correctly)

I have the full size image if it is any use forthe charity.

thanks so much Sarah. The first one is perfect - although the second is a great picture too. I'll look forward to the other two tomorrow.

Simon that is so good of you mate. Tell you what - we'll let the competition run until the last subject has been ticked off the list. Would be nice to have it done by Monday morning but no worries if it's not.

You'll see I've just updated the list again having crossed off the fly (thanks to Sarah), and the person having a bad day - I had one myself but Joes is good and so is Daves. And I've crossed off the dolphins thanks to Paul - they are great thanks Paul.

Hi Dave. I'm very sorry to hear your sad news. You can contact me via pm or via my website. If you want a chat I will be more than happy to help. I suffered with anorexia for 9 years from 26 - 35 and ended up spending 6 months in addenbrookes hospital. I'm ok now (4 years later) but never forget how lucky I am to be here. And I really do know the subject inside out. So if I can help feel free to ask....

hmmm, I have a craving for a glass of coca cola, bratney is just off to the shop, might tell her to get an extra bottle and have a play! Wonder if she will mind getting covered in coke - I'll be at the other end of the garden with the 200mm

See! Yv says you all have to take a photo too! (or something like that!)

Anyway, don't argue with me people. I've not slept for 34 hours and have spent most of the day in a large tin can, so get snapping! :bat:

Please :D

well done Ryan :) what a good cause, I hope you get lots of photos you can use :)

Sorry Ryan, not sure these are quite the 'fountain' effect you are looking for, but coke doesn't quite behave the way you expect sometimes

1 - should be in the Tate as modern art I feel....

Did you use the mentoes?

I don't profess to hvaing anything decent enough, but you're welcome to anything off my flickr too. Good luck, and well done for the support you're giving them :)

Apologies for my absence - I had a day out yesterday and when I return there's loads of fab images in the thread. Thanks everyone!!

A few pics of cards for you to choose from, and a treasure chest.

Now come on everybody else and get snapping!!! Simon did say something about L lenses and top end studio lighting as a prize.

Brilliant Sarah - that treasure chest shot is perfect. Thank you so much. :)
