Just a simple question from a 'Newbie'----
I would be grateful if anyone could give me the answer to my question below-----

I have a Canon EOS 600D and would like to know if a Canon Speedlite 430EZ Flash would be ok to use.
Thanks in anticipation
Paul

The 430EZ (as distinct from the 430EX) is a very old flash unit (Google tells me 1989) and will only work in manual mode on your camera. You will need to set the power level of the flash (from full to 1/2 to 1/4 down to 1/32) and adjust you camera exposure to suit.

I'm not that familiar with flashes and flash photography, but (especially as you're a 'newbie'), if I were you I would look for something a bit more modern and designed to work with all its features with your camera.

Just woken uo a bit more an realized you out Ez not EX, google will be your friend here :-)

Gebsrus - I have started looking at flashguns to use with my 550d, one brand worth looking at and seem to be widely used / recommended are Yongnuo. I havent bought one as yet, im hopefully getting the 565ex in the next few months. A lot cheaper than the Canons and by all accounts very comparable:

Like i say, im stating this with no actual experience so try the lighting/equipment section first if you want an experienced opnion
