I was on the H4H website this morning as I had promised a certain person I would do :)

And I was inspired. I know Mark and Paul have put together two brilliant events now both in London and in Leeds and with the support of the photographic community I know they will be a huge success. (well done boys)

Here's the inspiration though. All you budding events and sports photographers out there. YES YOU!! Taps screen! Have a look at your local area and see what is going on. There are literally hundreds of events out there from marathons to three peaks to football and hockey matches, gala balls and golf club dinner dances.

How about looking in your area to see if there is anything you can lend your services too. You don't have to be a top commercial/sports shooter but you will gain experience, the H4H folks doing these amazing things get some pics for their publicity and if we all allow H4H to use the pics, well that would be amazing!

And yes I have offered my meagre services for free.

What can you do to make a difference? :)

Well done for you.. and a great idea..one that i am doing by going to familie events over the next six months and giving them to our unit's familes office to use..

The lads/lasses really think it is great how people like you and all the other people that have helped are helping.

Terri

I have one or two events lined up for them later this year. Hope to raise a big pile of cash for them.

A good cause that you can support regardless of your view of the circumstances the boys were wounded doing. Its not about that, its about helping the boys.

My other half is arranging for a consigment of about 4000 comics to be delivered to the camps in Afghanistan. :)

Every little helps and if you are looking to shoot events/sport/press then get out there and practice on something while making a valuable contribution.

Go on go on go on go on go on! :)

I think this is a wonderful idea Ali, well done

I am currently shooting for a number of charities FOC and feel quite bad that H4H isnt one of them. However if something does arise I would happily help out.

Nice one Ian.

The other way to think about it is from a networking perspective.
You can make more people aware of your existance, you can submit pics to your local paper, you will be making more contacts and who knows what these people do.

Nice one Ian, hope it all goes well for you :)

Been sponsoring our local H4H for the last couple of years and will continue to do so. I hadn't thought of doing the photo's though. I might just give that a go.

Kev.

It really is inspiring when you see what people are doing. I still think it's a great idea for people wanting to break into these areas to gain experience while doing something good at the same time.

I found a couple who had asked their guests at their wedding to give to H4H instead of buying them wedding presents so myself and a colleague have offered to shoot their wedding for free and suppy an album at cost so they can give even more :)

Just seen this, I have been doing some low level sport stuff this winter just for the hell of it and putting low res pictures up for people to help themselves to for use on facebook or whatever with a donate to h4h there. From a couple of conversations with people it seems that its been used so hopefully there will be a bit from there to add to the total.

I'm doing SADDLEWORTH BEER WALK with my daughter who works for what was NAAFI and a bunch of squaddies. My unofficial role is to take a shot of the whole team at each pub on the way, whilst collecting for H4H.

Also my target to get fit as well - at Xmas I was a good 5 stone overweight, that's now 4 and need to shift another couple at least before the end of May. It is a gruelling walk - 10 miles, 10 pubs and countless hills which I will not complete at the moment.
