Guys I need a little help. I have a very old Mac G3 that I want to clean up before getting rid on it. On PC you uninstall applications using the control panel. This doesn't exist on the Mac so how do you uninstall apps on the Mac.
If you're selling it, that's the best thing to do.
You may have all sorts of personal data knocking about in the settings for the computer or in other places that you've forgotten about.
P.S. To make sure that nobody can get any of your information back using data recovery software, when you're re-installing OS X, go to Disk Utility after the first screen in the installer (you'll find some menus at the top).
Go to the Erase tab and click Erase Free Space... and select either 7-pass or 35-pass Erase, depending on how paranoid you're feeling
