I've managed to get spme specks of paint on my 7D body and macro lens body (don't ask!! :bang:). It's pretty much dried on

Does anyone know if something like white spirit will be safe to use? If not, is there any other solvent that I can use?

I'm thinking of using cotton buds to gently get it off when I find out what will work.

thanks in advance for your help

What sort of paint?
Emulsion or gloss?

Emulsion - water and a little detergent.

Gloss paints are variable. Some are water based, but others are not.
I'd find out about the paint and the solvent then ask Canon if the solvent can be used safely.
Whatever - clean just one spot first and watch for a reaction on the body.
Remeber to wash of the solvent if you get that far.

Thanks for the suggestions and coming to my rescue guys

thankfully it was emulsion, so used a cotton bud and warm water. No scratches, no marks, no sweat (as if :bonk:)

Needless to say I'll be a lot more careful in the future

Have given the 7D and the macro a big hug and said I love them again :D
