Yes
My camera is a grey import from the states, and ive just gone to charge up my battery and discovered I have a chinese plug instead of a UK one!
I have a day off tomorrow which is very rare and i want to get out and use my camera, where can i get a charger from?
I checked argos but they are internet only and not available to pick up in store.
I just checked the jessops website and its saying they are £49.00 and not available to buy in store! is this the right sort of price??
Any ideas please??
Pete

show us the plug ... might be able to get an adapter to UK !

some of them even fit into a shaving adapter

You don't need to replace the whole charger. Can't you just replace the cable that goes from the charger to the plug? It's a pretty standard cable that you could use from another Canon point and shoot maybe?

Or easier (and cheaper) still, use a travel adapter.

Why not cut off the plug and fit a UK one..As far as I am aware there shouldn't be any voltage problems

no its chinese, they have two flat, straight prongs mounted directly into the back of the charger, there is no cable. To get a travel adapter id need a china to UK not the other way round like uk tourists would need! :(

Go to WH Smith or even Tesco/Asda - I can assure you they have all varities of adapters - even the China to UK ones. You don't have to go to China to get yourself one of these :D

I have a camcorder bought in the States with a US plug - have been using it with an adapter from day one.

Thats the one - shaver adaptor - works with my US charger that has 2 flat pins out of the back

Don't know if this would work but I have had some appliances in the past which have only 2 connectors on them.

All I do is push a piece of plastic into the earth socket to push back the cover plates on the live and neutral sockets then push the connectors into them

Finally switch on.

Definitely NOT approved by 'elf'n'safety but it works.

I didn't want to suggest that , for safety reasons ... remember the trick of putting bare wires in the plug socket with another plug to hold them in ? :nono:

What's wrong with that? I once saw a friend put the bare wires in the socket then hold the cale in with his toe while he shaved...:eek: And that was before the days of RCDs :D
