I've just started to prepare for Saturday's wedding and have just realised that the burglars took the batteries for my Lowell id Video Light!! :(

Why they took them I do not know - they left the video light itself ???

Anyway - does anyone know where I can get something to replace them. Prokit supply batteries that do the job - these:-

But they don't have any in stock!

If anyone can help in any way I will be sooooo grateful!!

Ryan

That's a good shout Andy. But I'm not electronics wizard and wouldn't have a clue about connecting the light to the battery (the lowel light connects via a car cigarette lighter type attachment).

Anyone?

The easiest solution would be to get a 'female' ciggie-lighter adapter, a bonus would be one with crock-clips ready-fitted.

Somewhere like Maplins would certainly do one (and the crock clips if needs be), perhaps your local DIY store could get these items quickly too?

You two are heroes. Let me see if I understand this though.

I get one of the adapters Andy posted up. I use the crock-clips on the adapter to attach to the crock clips of Kev's car battery gadget? Is that right?

I can get to Maplins tomorrow with no hassle so I'll go see what I can do......

Kev you may have a visitor in the next day or two!! :)

My battery gadget already has a 12v car socket built in to it so it's all you'd need

IMHO, I'd go for a motorcycle battery as it's the right current rating (7Ah), plus they can be got for less than 40 quid and are quite compact in size (approx) 8''(w) x 5''(h) x 4''(d)...

The croc clips would simply attach to the terminals of the battery and the other end would be where you plug in the Lamp's fag-lighter socket

The amperage rating of the battery makes no odds whatsoever, the only difference will be that it lasts a lot longer than a 7ah battery, after all a 12v bulb works exactly the same on my land rover with nearly 400ah of batteries as it does on my other car with just a 60ah battery, it doesn't burn any brighter, doesn't affect it in any way, it still uses the same amount of power.

Good call, as the unit is a far 'tidier' solution. It's just the suitability of using a 17Ah battery that I'd be cautious of...

After recent events Kev has restored my faith in human nature. It was a pleasure to meet you tonight mate and thanks so much for lending me the car battery thing which will power my video light on Saturday.

Cheers mate :)

if this doesn't work out I've got one of the pro-kit packs that you can borrow, but you'd need to be able to collect/deliver from Guildford...

Thanks mate - that was a very kind offer. Fortunately Kevin's plan works a treat so I'm ok now.

Phew!!
