Hello
Did my City & Guilds about 16 years ago with an OM10 ( its an old Olympus Film Camers for the youger people LOL)
Our 15 year old daughter has a very good eye for art and pictures and I want to give her a go with a Digital SLR and I would like a go too.
A good friend is selling me his Canon 300D at a very good price so any to tips? Best way and what to teach our daughter?

The smae photographic principles apply with a DSLR as a film camera, just the way the camera operates is different that's all. Also you play with the images electronically as against with chemicals. Shoot in RAW it will give you more flexibility with the images for processing. Download the latest version of Canon's Digital Photo Professional from their website. Big advanatge, you can shoot as much as you like with no cost and see results straight away.

Hi

I've still got my 300D and occasionally still use it, my daughter uses it and it's a great camera, giving some cracking shots. Not the fastest by todays standards but still more than capable.

And don't forget, as Ken says, unlike film, it doesn't cost anything to run off xxx shots

Now just been offered a Mecablitz Hammerhead 45 CL-4. at a good price.
What would I need to buy to fit this on the Canon 300d?
Or should I just buy another flash? Is this still a good one or is it old hat?
