Hi All,

As per the title, I'm looking for your thoughts on how to best spend a voucher. I got one for PC World as a Christmas gift for the value of £300, but it can be also be spent in Currys/Currys.Digital. Dixons tax free stores are also mentioned on the back as an option, but, because these are the airport stores, I'm going to forget about them.

So, I'm going to get mostly photography related stuff. 1st on my list is Photoshop Elements. That seems to be coming in at £80. That leaves me with £220 to dwindle away.

The next thing I was thinking of was a photo scanner... but the Epson V500 was what I was looking for... and because of high demand it's not in stock at the moment. I will check on the possibility of getting this but in case it's not I may have other options... Even if I do get my hands on that it would leave roughly £50/£60 to my disposal after that...

Another option is a graphics tablet of some sort. That might push me a tad over the £300 depending on what you might advise, and depending on whether or not I get a scanner. But I don't mind throwing a few pound towards it if it's really worth it. If I were to go for one what would you suggest? PC World tablets are here, or currys are here.

I'm open to any other suggestions too from anyone!

On a side note, neither seem to do lenses. And next on my list is either the Sigma 10-20mm or the Tokina 11-16mm... or a Nikon 18-200mm... That's a whole new ball game though!

Anyway, your thoughts are much appreciated, and thanks in advance :)

Have you already got plenty of external memory for back-ups? Might be worth getting some more while the sales are on.

That's another good shout. I went in today and spent about half of it, so might check how much an external backup is.

So far I have got:

- Photoshop elements 8
- 8GB memory card which I forgot was much needed
- Lowepro slingshot 200 bag

Leaves me with 125 change to think about. The scanner is over 200 when ordered in store so I'm forgetting about that idea for the minute. So my options are:

- External backup drive
- Graphics tablet of some sort
- A Flashgun

And I'm actually thinking I might be able to pick up both a graphics tablet & backup drive for the remaining cash... with maybe a wee bit of cash thrown in too!

A Flashgun:thumbs: There are many deals at the moment and HAGGLE!! Then produce your voucher Do not show them the vouchers first or let them know - drive a bargain then pay!;)

nice monitor to make the editing easier???

Nice idea! With the flash gun coming in at over £200 I'll want to bring that down a bit.

what about a nice comfy chair for them long hours editing?

Another fine idea  just wish I had another £300 voucher now

The monitor I have will do the trick for now. It does the trick for me, and after giving it a few online tests it seems display colours quite well right through the ranges. I reckon when I invest in my next PC I'll be considering a new monitor though :)

Thanks for the replies all!
