HELP: Model Release required?

Hi,

I'm quite new to photography in the UK, since I'm not from around here.

Is it a must to get the model to sign a model release? I have no intention of selling the photos, I'll be using the photos only in my portfolio.

no need then but you should ask them if you can take photo's of them just to be sure.

No you are not required to have a model release unless they're commercial purposes i.e. selling the photos.
I also don't think you need a model release if it's for editorial purposes i.e. a magazine, newspaper etc.

However it is common courtesy to ask
Unless you're doing a bit of candid street photography, then it might not be the right time to do it.

I always do as many don't seem to know the law, and if you've got is at least you know you're covered no matter what.

i'm doing a model shoot, so i definitely have permission

I never bother with a model release TBH
