[tarik2d]

Hi All,

What camera are the NEF files from?

[tarik2d]

Nikon d300

I'd have thought CS3 would open D300 raws, have you downloaded the latest version of Camera Raw from the Adobe site?

[tarik2d]

I havent no, i'll have a look at that and see if that helps

Strange, I'm still running Lightroom 1.4 and even that opens the D300 NEFs

I don't know about CS3 but do recall that the Nikon codec is not 64 bit compatible but that should only stop you being able to see thumbnails or windows slideshow.

See if any of the info here helps

Lightroom - but you may have 64 bit problems there too I don't know.

Running WXP Home Edition here which is 64 bit.
I have PSE7 and can open NEF's from my Nikon D70.

This problem has surfaced on the forum before and the solution has usually been to get the latest version of ACR.

[tarik2d]

Do you have a link that you used to download the ACR? i found one but it didnt work on mine

[Chaz Photos]

this is teh lates ACR for CS3
its 4.6

Correction to that WXP Home Edition is 32 bit.

I would like to point out there is
Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit
And
Windows Vista Home Premium both 32 and 64bit
BOTH are called HOME
You always need all of the facts to comment

Nikon have a program called "Nikon ViewNX" which is free from their website and will open NEFs and allow you to convert them to JPEG or TIFF.
