Hi, have a Birthday coming up and My Wife wants to buy me a new Lens!!!
So over to you what best Compliments what I already have??
Canon 600d Camera, Crop Body.
50mm EF Lens
18mm - 135mm EF-S Zoom
55mm-250mm EF-S Zoom

Interests - Landscape Or Pets mainly but not specifically

Thinking Macro or Wide Angle Zoom but???

Max Budget around £500, New or Used

The 18-135 would cover the majority of your criteria.(y)
 
If its mainly landscapes, then i would recommend the Canon EF 17-40 mm f/4.0 L USM, its a great wide-angle/all rounder.
For pets, and macro, how about the Sigma 105mm f2.8 Ex Dg Macro, you could maybe pick up both lenses used, for around your budget. Or maybe sell your 50mm and 18-135mm to part fund the purchase of a Canon 50mm f1.4 or a Canon 85mm f/1.8 both cracking fast/sharp lowlight lenses.

As with Michael, the Canon 17-40 gets a great following and worth a look.

An alternative is to upgrade your 55-250 and go for the Canon 70-200F4L lens - an absolute belter of a lens and certainly a consideration as it's a present :)

Just another thought...If you were to sell your 55-250 lens, you might be able to get to the 70-200 F4IS L lens 2nd hand ???
 
If your interest is landscapes have a look at the Canon 10-18 STM. It's a lot of lens for the money it costs.

I suppose you need to have a good hard think about what your main interests are, or where you would like to specialise. Then choose something that will suit that interest.
 
For landscapes try the Canon 10-22

For macro the Canon 100f2.8 non-is takes some beating if you can live without is.

Agree with you (a little) but when asked what I wanted for my Birthday and I said HiFi Amp, she said OK pick one and a new Lens as well, must have been a good boy!!

So the moral must be never argue with a woman when her Purse is open, yes.
