I am going to Sweden on Monday , weather looks poor, I'll do some macro, can't find the right S/H lens at such short notice, so I'll get some extension tubes to tie me over - might not be a bad idea untill I decide I like it.

Kit = Canon 7D & EFS 17 - 85

PROBLEM

Jessops say Kenco DG Canon AF Entention tube set is not compatible with Canon EFS lens

Wex say thay are

Anyone got any experience?????????????? URGENT

Kenko's website say they are suitable for EF & EFS lenses. Maybe Jessops wanted to sell you a new lens?

I have kenko tubes and use them on my 50mm which is an EF-S lens so defo compatible :)

Thanks for your help [amazingly quickly - the time I have just come off the phone to Jessops!!!]

It is actually their website which says they are not compatable!!

Now to find out where I can collect some from or get posted by Monday!!

Just watched a video on you tube, he was using a Canon and was using a 17 - 85mm, which I believe makes it an EFS and that functioned ok..

Humm

Now either I'm being thick or I need to apologise. I thought the 50mm 1.8 was the same mount as the cheaper lenses hence ef-s with ef being the more expensive eg100-400.

There are 2 different Kenko sets and one is EF-S as well as EF so make sure you get the right set. Try Park Cameras as I know they do them...cos i work there!

It was a couple or more years ago that Kenko tubes wouldn't fit EF-S. The newer versions just have a slightly smaller baffle inside to clear the back of EF-S lenses.
