Hi,

I am making the most of the weather, however, I have issues with heat haze, will a UV filter help or can I do something in LR to help ?

The short answer is no. You can't do much about any atmospheric haze. It is what is is I'm afraid. Assuming you're shooting digital your camera's sensor has a UV filter anyway

You can use the dehaze feature in LIghtRoom which is quite effective, alternatively shoot early morning (if you can) when the day isn’t yet hot.

I do not use lightroom but you can sometimes improve haze by using levels, setting a black point or increasing contrast. It will not be perfect but may be acceptable.
I did this with Nikon Capture NX-D, I simply selected the black control point and clicked it on the side of the ship
