Help please! Photos not showing on laptop

Hi all.

I have done a shoot this afternoon and I can see all the photos on the camera when the SD card is inside the camera, but when I put the SD card in the laptop. it doesn't show any photos from today, just the shoot I did last weekend.

I have checked hidden folders
I have checked every folder on the SD card
I have tried to see if I can view the files in Nikon Transfer 2 but no luck.

Any suggestions please anyone?

I have a d850.

Try connecting the camera to the laptop via the USBs and see if you can download them that way?
 
Have you downloaded them from the camera onto the computer using a link cable.

When I link it via the USB cable, nothing happens, just shows the camera but no option to select the files.
 
have you recorded only onto the other card? not on both
find out which card has the photos and replace the other and copy to the new card in the camera. .
Use an extrnl; card reader
is the card locked either via camera or on the card itself
is there capacity on the laptop to accept the photos

try "wondershare recoverit" to see if that can find them or "scandisk rescue delux" recovery programs
