Help please - Query on images sizes on FB

Hi

I have a FB page and I'm running a photo comp.

I have created an album so I can put all the entries into one folder and then people 'like' the entries.

So, entrants upload a photo to my wall, I 'save as' then upload to the correct competition album. I then have to delete the wall photo so people don't 'like' that (too confusing).

The problem is, when some of the photos appear on my wall, the are an acceptable size. However, when I 'save as' then put some in my folder on my computer, then upload to FB into the competition folder. God, some are tiny.

As an example, one photo was about 130 x 98 pixels and it appeared large on my wall, but tiny tiny when I placed a copy in the folder.

Any suggestions? I keep asking people to upload a decent size pic, but some only have mobiles etc.

I can't understand it, why would the pic appear at an acceptable size on the wall, yet shrink to nothing when 'saved as'?

I did try 'download' but that won't work, it takes ages and ages to download.

Are you saving the image from your wall by just right clicking and save as, or do you click on it, view the full image then save as?

basically you could be saving the thumbnail and not the full size.

However, create a gmail account "comp.facebookname@gmail.com" and get people to email full size ones there.

For facebook, resize to 800px along the longest side and upload. Mobile or not, it should still be big enough for that

Thanks Harvey, I've tried both methods.

How do I set up a Facebook email address?

I think the prob is some people have only got small resolution pics. Somethings going wrong from me 'saving as'. Because, as I say, on the actual wall, the photo even if only tiny pixel size is ok but when I put a copy in the folder, some are tiny.

just open a new google email and use your facebook name
