Hi guys

A rather odd, embarrassing question but I just cannot get my head round it.

The area in my frames for the picture are 70cm (height) by 50cm (width) So my window mount have to be the same.

My images are A3 (don't worry - its been agreed with my lecturer about having the wide borders as it suits my work.

So I've been trying, but cannot get my head around it. How much distance from each side would I have to have to cut the mount board to fit the A3 image centred, with the mount being bottom weighted.

Ah I hope this makes sense.

I'm so confused. I'm crap with things like this :shake:

Any help would be very much appreciated.

A3 is 594x420mm, so that's 40mm on either side, 40mm on the top and 66mm at the bottom.

If it was mine I think that's a bit too much bottom weighting so I'd make it 46mm on the top and 60mm below.

No, it's not, it's 420x297mm. The size you quoted is A2

Hoppy is now due squizza two dozen sheets of mount board! :lol:

(outside dimensions - (inside dimensions - (any overlap x 2)) / 2

so that would be A3 = 420mm
frame = 700mm
overlap = 10mm (for example its up to you)

(700 - ( 420 - ( 10 x 2)) / 2
(700 - 400) / 2
150mm = distance from edge
