help sort out my gear

Hi. I have a d90 have the following gear. 50Mm prime a tamron 24 - 135 a Nikon18 - 200 and a sigma 10 - 20 wide angle. For my birthday my brother has just given me £600 to get whatever lens I like. This has totally throw me. All my kit has been bought secondhand so idea if 600 on a single Kensington scares me. I have no idea what to buy. I know the 18 - 200 is my most expensive item but I often struggle to get sharp images at 150 - 200 and cannot get blurred backgrounds at 5.6 . I can't get nice close ups of flowers as shutter speads are slow. I looked at tags sigma 24 - 70 but it's a full frame lens. Please help clear the fog of ideas...

You should be looking at the Nikon 17-55mm if you have no plans to go full frame. But with the amount that you've got, you need to be looking for second hand ones.

Sounds to me like you need to sell the 18-200, it's not satisfying you. You already have a 24-135, and a 10-20 wide, plus a 50mm. Sell the 18-200, put that 600 on top of what you get for it and buy a 70-200 2.8. Everyone should have one. You'll get those nice blurred backdrops easily, nothing beats shooting 2.8 on a zoom. Even in daylight.

I would go on a mad shopping spree, and sell everything you got except the sigma 10-20mm. Then buy a tamron 17-50mm non vc, 35mm f1.8 prime, a 70-300mm nikon or tamron. If you got anything left buy a tamron 90mm macro.
