Guys/Gals

Here's is the scenario.

CURRENT SITUATION: I do all my picture editing in my office in the house on a Mac Pro. If I have clients coming to view pictures in my studio, I export the edited pictures as JPEGs and then import them in to my wifes MacBook so that I can connect the MacBook to my data projector in the studio.

WHAT I WOULD LIKE: I would like to have a thin client type setup whereby I could connect a mouse (USB), a keyboard (USB) and my projector (VGA) to a small box that would allow me to connect to my main Mac Pro in the house (e.g. VNC if the quality is good enough) over the network so that I could view on the projector what is on the Mac Pro. So basically the project is like adding a second monitor to the Mac Pro, but done so over the network.

I hope this makes sense!!

Any advice would be a appreciated!

Thanks
Geoff

Can't you just use the Screen Sharing (VNC) built into the MacBook to connect to the indoors MAC?

With the Macbook in the Studio, connected to the projector etc.......

From Finder, select cmd + K and add vnc://ipaddressofMac

Hold on- you already have a macbook, that normally you use to show the pictures? Why not connect that to the mac pro (using wireless/cable etc) and use realvnc or simular to connect directly to the mac pro?

Yeah, sorry I should have clarified this bit a bit better! I want to do away with the MacBook if possible as its my wifes! Not a good idea when you steal the wifes Mac Book!

Didn't the Gadget Show do something on these things last series.

Pop's of to check.............

Yes, I was just elaborating a little on a mighty fine idea

All very interesting chaps!

Based on the review I'm not sure how it would handle a VNC connection to my Mac Pro!!!!

Oh decisions decisions!!!

Would a cheap as chips Mac Mini not do the trick?
Get yourself a wireless keyboard and mouse and away you go.

Then using OS X you could connect to the Mac at home and share the screen.....I am right in thinking it could be as simple as that aren't I?

wireless VGA sender + wireless keyboard/mouse?

Any in particular in mind neil!?

Yeah you are right!! I am probably over complicating the whole thing really!
