Well looking at getting the Father in-law a decent tripod for Christmas... My thoughts of budget are set at £100 So I use a Redsnapper 283 and 3 way head so that's an option. What are the others? I have no idea as I knew what I wanted but just want to cover all bases first :)

Many thanks!

Assuming that its just going to be used for fairly standard landscape work I don't think you can really go wrong with that selection...if he doesn't have one though I'd also throw a budget trigger into the mix too

You can get a Slik Pro 400dx HERE for £69.99 complete good solid tripod

This Giotto is £89.99

400DX is what I use, slightly lighter than the redsnapper but of similar style and quality. Had mine 3 years and it came to me already looking like it had been through a war, and it's still perfectly robust and looking even more like a battle hardened veteran.

My first tripod was a 500 DX which I sold when I got my Giotto and I have not got another 500 DXfor the beach as it deals will conditions without a problem unlike the Giotto.
