Help using Nissins Di622MKII flash

Right, I have a Canon 1000d and a Nissin Di622 MkII flash gun. I can't seem to get it functioning in TTL mode so any shot I take is perfectly exposed.

It's in the correct mode, I'm sure of that just doesn't seem to work as it should.

Can any one offer any pointers as to where I"m going wrong?

Has the Di622 got an AUTO mode. I have a Di866 which when set to auto seems to work how it should in TTL and exposes any shot correctly and IIRC it also has a TTL mode which for some reason doesn't want to work how it should. Have you got the CD with the full instructions on it, if so have a trawl through that with your camera on your knee and check the settings. I usually use my Canon 580EX II now so it's a while since I used my Nissin.

It has a TTL mode but seems to not work inline with my other settings. Read the manual but it doesnt help.
