Help what settings for motorbikes

Hello

I'm been taken to my first motorbike meeting on Monday, I am planning on taking a D300 70-200 2.8, but what setting are best. I normally do Landscapes and weddings, any help would be great:)
 
What type of racing? A good start would be in Shutter mode starting at 1/320 and check the wheels for blur, then adjust accordingly. If you use too high a shutter speed you freeze the wheels.
 
Thought i would bump this as Im in a similar position, here are the details

Canon 550d/ Canon 70-300is/monopod.
Shooting at Anglesey Circuit.

Any tips on the following-
Shutter or Aperture priority (Ive been using shutter so far)
Metering mode?
AF mode?
Try fully manual?
Tips on ISO in various conditions?
Tips on bikes travelling towards/away from shooting location?
