Help! White Balance...

Hi guys

Just as I thought I knew how white balance worked...:bang:...let me explain my problem:

I shoot on a 5d1 and my wife shoots on a 5d2. We use Lightroom for the bulk of our post processing.

When we are on a shoot together, we both set our white balance to FLASH for the entire gig so we can do batch white balance correction in post.

For the whole gig we'll usually have the flash on camera ready for fill if we need it (usually around FEC=-2). Occasionally we need flash as main light, we get the flash off camera (FEC=0). Sometimes we don't use flash at all.

After a shoot we've been noticing some weird stuff happening on the white balance.

>> 5d2 white balance comes out well, but 5d1 has a cast
>> It turns out that when we look in CAMERA CALIBRATION in Lightroom, the 5D2 was set to "Adobe Standard", but the 5D1 was set to "ACR"
>> Setting the CAMERA CALIBRATION of the 5D1 shots to "Adobe Standard" reduces the colour cast almost entirely.

QUESTION 1: Why is this, and what do I change in my 5D1 to make it behave like the 5D2, or is it a Lightroom issue?

>> The manuals of both the 5D1 and 5D2 say that FLASH white balance equates to a colour temperature of 6000.
>> Each shot in lightroom displays a different "as shot" COLOUR TEMPERATURE and TINT.

QUESTION 2: Why do different shots (on both cameras) have different colour temperatures and tints (as displayed by lightroom) when both cameras were set to FLASH white balance throughout.

 :help:

Hoping you can help

Steve
