I need some help - please.
I have been away for a few weeks. Got back and fired up computer (HP Desktop), connected to internet OK and downloaded emails. Meanwhile itunes wanted to update software and Norton 360 wanted to do backup. All fine and then machine froze.
I switched off and rebooted. Couldn't get internet (I do not have a wired connection). Checked with Control Panel and the wireless connection was "disabled". Told it to enable and it said it couldn't.
Switched off and rebooted. No internet. Checked Control Panel and wireless icon had disappeared.
Went to Help which suggested unistalling the hardware and reinstalling. No change.
The wireless adapter icon has a yellow "!" agianst it. Message now says unable to start hardware.
I'm assuming the wireless card is knackered.
What is the best route forward, given that I am not technically minded.
For reference the existing card is shown as:
Any assistance and advice welcomed.
I am currently doing this on desktop with cables stretching between two rooms - not really practical.
