I am not sure if it me being stupid or a problem with my camera in the when I use liveview set in M mode with the ISO set 100 the screen is black i can only see anything when i press the shutter button halfway down. It does the same in TV mode, but is fine when used in AV & P mode

Just tested my 650d and it'll do that if the exposure is too short for your aperture/iso setting.

If you increase the exposure time then you'll start to see what's in the shot.
