Help with a lens please

Ok so i am after a 50mm prime for my NEX-5 and i have been looking at the old Minolta lenses, obviously i need a 35mm to be the equivelant on a 1.5 crop to get it to 52mm, but what do i go for?

I need something that is pin sharp and although the reviews for the 50mm rokkor f1.7 are outstanding its going to give me 85mm or so which is too much.

What can give me the equal at 28-35mm? bearing in mind these lenses are £30-60.

Help please.
 
You can't just fit a standard Sony or Minolta lens on the NEX-3 or NEX-5, the only way you can get them to fit is using the E-Mount adaptor, and then you'll lose autofocus.
The only E-Mount lenses available are the 16mm pancake, 18-55, and the 18-200 (if you can find one!).
 
I'm pretty sure the OP is talking about old manual focus Minolta MD lenses. Unfortunately there are very few fast, wide (on 35mm) and affordable older lenses. A couple to look out for would be the Kiron 28/2 and 24/2 models (sometimes branded Vivitar) and the Mir 24-N which is a 35/2.

On mine, I'm using a CCTV lens...it's a 35/1.7 which is perfect. Centre sharpness is great although it's not brilliant at the edges...great for street photography though and it's tiny!!

Thanks Manualfocus, i was talking about those, but was unsure which one to get. At the moment i am looking at a Canon f2 so its close between the Minolta and the Canon as they both get rave reviews on sharpness.

I'll do some more research.
