Help with another lens 200mm Manual

M42 mount?

Not sure yet as I am hopefully getting one on an auction soon.

I did have a 200mm nikon manual - but it was stiff and didn't have the 1:1 I was hoping for. For full zoomyness I think I'd need to go over 300mm perhaps to the 400mm. Again unsure whether I would use and quality sooooo... m42 and a test.

Plus lots of practice on pidgeons (probably)
 
Keith, is this lens going to go on the Nex? If so, look here for the adaptors which will fit.

I would go for a Sony/Minolta AF mount, and then buy the 70 - 210 f4 Beercan lens from Minolta. It is pretty sharp.
Another good mount, would be the M42, to allow you to take advantage of a whole host of screw fit lenses of good quality.

Hi Andy. Yes its going on the NEX; i do have a link which tells me what adapters fit, but i really needed help on the lens.

I have just bought a 28mm 2.8 which is absolutely fantastic, but it took me about 2 weeks to research just to find it.

I dont really want to do that again for a 200mm.

Thanks for the Beercan suggestion though i will take a look at that. Anything else you can think of please let e know. I love these old manual lenses.
 
This is a shameless plug for something which I am selling, but I have a Minolta AF 100 - 200 f4.5 for sale in the classifieds at the moment. With the correct adaptor it would fit the Nex, and it may even keep the autofocus, as well as allowing you to switch to manual focus.

Haha, i like it, opportunist, like me. :)

I've got about a day left on the Oly that i am watching at the moment, i need to see if it jumps in price, if not i will be getting that, but i'll keep an eye on your thread though.

:lol:No worries Keith, you can't knock a guy for trying. I have just been buying Takumar (55 f2, 55 f1.8, 135 f3.5, 200 f4)and Zeiss primes (135 f3.5) (which I have to use manual focus), and the quality of construction, and indeed results puts many of the newer lenses to shame.

Well if they are anything like my new purchase i'd be inclined to agree with you. I have just looked through the shots i have taken today with my 2.8 and i'm shocked to say the least.
