I did our battalion prelims the other day, half from ringside with my 24-70, half from a platform approx 20m from the ring- elevated -with my 100-300F4 set at about 200mm,
To be honest I know a lot of it is in the timing but I was struggling to find the best exposure, in the end I went with 1/200 F4 and let the auto iso do the legwork.
This worked ok for a while but then I got a whole bout that was under exposed by about 2 stops
So, any thoughts from the sports pros out there (oh and its amatuer stuff, mostly 1st time out so its not too technical or predictable in boxing terms!)
I have the finals tomorrow night (no pressure as our pro phot will be there) and then an inter unit comp next week
