Help with gift for friend

Hi,

Looking for a bit of advise. I am looking to buy a friend who has helped me out recently a gift of a macro lens (for Canon body) my budget is £150 max. This can be either new or second hand.

What would be your recommendations?

tamron 90mm is probably your only real option. Great lens, and you can probably get it for about that second hand

personally i'd be inclined to let the freind choose - they might prefer 150 quid towards a more expensive option

I did offer him the cash but he did not want to accept cash, which I can understand. I will ask him though if there is a particular one he has been looking at.

Sorted he has decided to hold off on a macro for now and go with a nifty fifty.

sorted - he could do a lot of macro with a nifty and a set of extension tubes anyway
